Trivia Company Comparison Scorecard

Score up to three trivia providers against the same eight categories, using weights you set yourself, then check how much of your view rests on evidence rather than impressions. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere — the numbers live in this page while it is open, and it prints cleanly if you want it on paper for reference calls.

Your priorities

Optional. Rate how much each goal matters, 1 low to 5 high. These do not change the scores below — they only tell you which categories deserve the most attention.

Providers

Names flow through to the table headers and the results. Leave a name as it is if you are only comparing two.

Scores are out of 5. The percentage under each name is that score as a share of the 5-point maximum.

Score the providers

Rate each provider 1 to 5 in every category and adjust the weights to match your own priorities. Weights are percentages.

A weighted score is an opinion until these are in hand. Tick what you have actually collected, not what you have been promised.

Reference-call questions

Ask a venue of a similar size and service style. The answers to these six tend to separate providers more sharply than any sales conversation.

  1. Does the event start and end on time?
  2. What happens when the regular host is absent?
  3. Are questions and scoring handled consistently?
  4. What promotion does the provider actually complete?
  5. How responsive is account management?
  6. Would the venue sign again?

How the math works

  • Weighted score = the sum of each weight multiplied by that provider’s 1 to 5 rating, divided by the total of the weights. Dividing by the actual weight total normalises the result, so it stays a valid 1 to 5 figure even when your weights do not add up to 100.
  • Percentage = weighted score divided by 5. It is the same information in a different shape, useful if you are reporting to someone who prefers percentages.
  • Category leader is simply the highest raw 1 to 5 rating in that row, ignoring weights. Equal ratings show as Tied.
  • The margin caveat. A 1 to 5 rating is a judgement, and two people scoring the same provider often differ by a point. When the gap between first and second is small, the ranking is not telling you much.

A note on what this tool assumes

The eight categories and their starting weights are a structure, not a verdict, and every weight is editable because the right weighting for a 50-seat pub protecting a quiet dining room is not the right weighting for a brewery taproom chasing a loud Wednesday. We do not publish scores for any named provider, we do not compare against an industry benchmark, and nothing in this page is a rating of anyone. Every number here is yours.

This page prints cleanly if you want it on paper for the reference calls — margins tighten and the input fields print as filled.
